Another Google Phone by Samsung in Q2 2009

BlackBerry vs iPhone

The smart phone market is now dominated by two companies – Apple and Research In Motion. According to our survey results, the Apple iPhone trails the RIM BlackBerry in terms of current market share – but the iPhone has experienced strong growth since its inception and explosive growth since the release of the 3G model in July 2008.

Going forward, RIM is showing a surge in momentum due to its slew of new product launches – and appears capable of giving Apple a strong challenge in 200

Q1 2009: Android invades Japan

Q1 2009: which is just couple months later from now!

"DoCoMo aims to introduce the Google phone at a price about 20% lower than existing smartphones, as it will save costs on software development using the Android software, the report said. Google is offering the software for free."

The Smartphone Will Dominate Internet Access by 2020

When reading this article/report, I guess Google will say, "The smartphone will be our Android-based smartphones"....
  • Some 77% said the mobile computing device (the smartphone) with more significant computing power will be 2020's primary global Internet-connection platform.
  • 64% favored the idea that 2020 user interfaces will offer advanced touch, talk and typing options and some added a fourth "T" - think.
*The full report (pdf file, 138 pages) can be downloaded from the Elon University website.

Blog Rule #1: Labelling please...

I'm trying to create categories for our posts, but I couldn't found it how. Hmm, until I found out this article, which confirmed that blogger has no categories feature (that's why I actually prefer wordrpess, hehe)

Since categories/labels is helpful, so please tag your post to a label, and please also write your NAME as one of the label, so that it is easy to categorize based on your name too. Like when you want to find your own writting only, you can easily find it by just click to your name's label.

Thanks.

Konnichiwa !

Just wanted to drop by and say `Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas `. Can everybody please upload the summary of research papers or atleast links that you have gathered so far ? TQ

Here is a Forrester report on mobile internet adoption in Europe. The author explains why mobile internet adoption is slow and what companies need to do if they want to have a bigger piece of the mobile market share-cake.

Coming to Google`s business model. Given that they will not be getting any app revenues (TQ Thao for the link) and from the survey we find that mobile browsing is the least used application/functionality amongst the current mobile internet users, how will Google get revenues ? (other than the 30% cut from advertising)

Secondly, mobile users prefer widgets or stand alone apps over general browsing like search, what are the options available for Google to do mobile advertising ?

PS: Rizki san Arigatto Gozaimashita for the blog.
